Common Questions

Expert answers about School Placement & Exemptions.

Is this report accepted for MOE Mother Tongue exemption?

Yes. To apply for Mother Tongue Language (MTL) exemption, MOE typically requires a formal diagnosis of a specific learning disorder (like Dyslexia). Our Academic Functioning battery (IQ + WIAT-4) provides the necessary discrepancy analysis required for this application.

What is the difference between GEP screening and a private IQ test?

The GEP (Gifted Education Programme) screening is a standardized exam administered by MOE in schools. A private IQ test (WISC-V) is a clinical assessment that provides a detailed cognitive profile. While a private test cannot "get you into" the GEP directly, it is often used by parents to understand their child's potential or to support appeals/DSA applications.

Do international schools require this for admission?

Many top international schools in Singapore (e.g., UWC, SAS, Tanglin) require a cognitive profile (WISC-V) as part of their admissions process to ensure the child can cope with the curriculum pace. We are familiar with these requirements and produce reports specifically for school placement.

How long is the report valid for?

Most schools and exam boards require psycho-educational reports to be conducted within the last 2 to 3 years to be considered valid for access arrangements.
