Dr. Chelsea Chew
Educational & Counselling Psychologist
Chelsea has more than 28 years of experience as an educational and counselling psychologist. She started as a behavioural therapist for autistic children, and then worked with students with learning and mental health issues in schools. She also worked at School Health Services, counselling students dealing with emotional difficulties and relationship issues with their families or friends.
She has had stints in the Child Guidance Clinic (IMH), the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, preschools, and early intervention centres for children with various needs.
Chelsea has also taught psychologists at the Masters level and trained teachers while a full-time lecturer at NIE. She has lectured on psychological testing, counselling techniques, and psychological disorders, and has supervised many budding psychologists.
Chelsea utilises a variety of approaches to work with clients across the age range, including cognitive-behaviour therapy, behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, schema therapy, and reality therapy. She is adept at harnessing techniques from various approaches as needed.
