Dr. Kristina Burgetova's professional experience is primarily with adults and parents, serving as a consulting psychologist, clinical supervisor, and adjunct professor. She has practiced as a clinician in the USA, Canada, and Singapore.
Her clinical interests include couple therapy and relationship issues, identity development and self-exploration, family of origin concerns, adjustment and acculturation challenges, and the well-being of high-functioning individuals. Dr. Burgetova uses postmodern contemporary approaches to psychotherapy. Her goal is for clients to develop self-awareness and acquire tools that ultimately empower them to become their own therapists.
In addition to psychotherapy, she provides clinical supervision to trainee psychologists and serves as a Senior Lecturer at James Cook University in Singapore. She also offers psychological consultations and develops and facilitates mental health workshops at INSEAD Business School, Singapore.
Alongside her academic and consulting work, she sees private clients — primarily couples. She uses the Gottman Method, an approach that provides a safe, non-blaming structure to assess relationship strengths and areas for improvement, while applying tailored interventions to enhance relationship quality. Dr. Burgetova specializes in couples intensives and marathon sessions.
